It is easy to consign at A Hot Mess!
The Rules for Consigning 
  • Clothing must be brought in clean; dry cleaned/pressed if neccessary, and on hangers, so we can get them on the floor as soon as possible. We do not accept clothing that is wrinkled, missing buttons, smell of smoke, or "too washed". They will be disposed of immediately.
  • The consignment period is for 90 days, unless otherwise specified. Items brought during the end of the season may not get the full 90 days. No need to tag your items, we will do the work for you.
  • A Hot Mess decides the price of the merchandise and you, the consignor, receive 50% of the selling price. All items are subject to store wide sales. You may call us for your account balance. Checks will be written on the first of the month for accounts exceeding $25.00, and must be picked up within 90 days. You can use your credit in the store at anytime.  
  • Consignors are responsible for picking up items before the expiration date of the consignment period.  If you choose, unsold items must be picked up before the 90-day period has expired,otherwise the merchandise will become property of A Hot Mess. All stained items will be disposed of immediately.
  • You do NOT need an appointment to consign. Please bring a minimum of 20 items. You can bring more. You will be notified on the spot regarding any items that are not accepted for consignment. If you do not want unsellables donated, we ask that you wait and allow us to sort. All items "dropped off" that are not accepted for consignment in the shop become property of A Hot Mess.
  • A Hot Mess does not accept male clothing. We also do not accept toys or baby gear. We do NOT take clothing from local discount stores such as Walmart, Target, or K-Mart. We accept women's clothing of all sizes, and nb-youth 8 girls.
